CASE STUDY : ISLAND LOGISTICS

Scope of works:

Logistical support for all aspects of the project on a coastal island – demolition of existing building, landscaping and construction of bespoke residential building (prefabricated abroad), trial assembled, disassembled, and shipped to the UK in 40’ open top ISO Containers (2 TEU) for final delivery to site.

Access to the Island is only by boat and all items required had to be shipped in. The nature of the Island’s foreshore required amphibious operations to unload and deliver all materials.

KML were contracted to supply shipping and marine co-ordination logistics for all phases, with responsibility for receiving materials at designated mainland load-out points, and shipping/delivering materials to worksite.
